Israeli settlers hurled rocks and set fire to the outer premises of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNWRA) headquarters, their third attack on the building in less than a week, Wafa news agency reports.

On May 9, UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini announced the agency would temporarily close its headquarters, located in Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood, after several arson attacks.

“It is the responsibility of the State of Israel as an occupying power to ensure that United Nations personnel and facilities are protected at all times,” said Lazzarini in a statement at the time. “UN staff, premises and operations should be protected at all times in line with international law.”
