LOWER DIR: Newly-elected provincial general secretary of Awami National Party Hussain Shah Yousafzai has said ANP will continue to raise voice for rights of Pakhtuns.

He was addressing party workers on his arrival in Chakdara here the other day after his election to the post.

Carrying party flags, dozens of ANP workers received him at the Chakdara Interchange of the Swat Motorway. The ANP stalwart was then taken to his native village in a vehicular procession.

Addressing the workers, Mr Yousafzai insisted that ANP was the only political party that always raised voice for rights of Pakhtuns. He said party workers and leaders loved Wali Bagh, Charsadda, the home town of late Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan.

Mr Yousafzai said Pakhtuns across the country were faced with lawlessness and a sense of deprivation. He said ANP would be further strengthened in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the leadership of Mian Iftikhar Hussain and Aimal Wali Khan.

He said disgruntled workers would be persuaded and united on a single platform. He said ANP played a key role in national politics and he would convey the message of Bacha Khan to every nook and corner of the province.
