Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has stated that his nation stands with Palestine. Addressing a joint press conference alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during an official visit to Pakistan, he said that Pakistan and Iran “can no longer tolerate the oppression of Palestine and Gaza and the child-killing by the zionist Israeli regime with US support.”

“We believe that people around the world are in pain and the international organisations who claim to support human rights have proven they are inefficient,” he said, listing the United Nations as an example.

“The United Nations Security Council has failed to deliver on its responsibility,” he added.

“The Muslims of Iran and Pakistan and Muslims around the world who want freedom […] ask for an end to this oppression”, the Iranian president continued, adding: “We stand with these positions adopted by Muslims around the world and the Palestinian resistance’s goals will be realised.”

President Raisi also acknowledged how Pakistan has “defended Islam and Islamic values” and how they are “fighting for Gaza and Palestine”.
