DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The people of Dera and Tank districts on Wednesday celebrated the Saraiki Culture Day with men, women and children attired in traditional blue Ajrak, a block-printed shawl, were seen at different public places.

Saraikistan Students Movement, a students’ body of Government Degree College No.1, organised its annual award show at the Mufti Mehmood Memorial Library Hall, wherein MNA Dawar Khan Kundi was the chief guest.

College teachers, students and people from different walks of life attended the function.

The speakers said the Saraiki culture was enriched with the colours of love, devotion, cohesion, brotherhood and sacrifice.

Poets, including Inayatullah Inayat, Gulab Wazir and others, presented their pieces in Saraiki, Pashto and Urdu languages.

A rally was also taken out in Tank to mark the day.

The participants of the rally wore traditional blue Ajrak. The people also danced to the tunes of Saraiki songs to show their love for the Saraiki language.
