The leader of the Israeli opposition, Yair Lapid, has questioned why Netanyahu has picked a “public quarrel” with the Biden administration in the US, Al Jazeera reports.
In an apparent reference to Netanyahu’s public comments that he would not be pressured to end his war on Gaza “prematurely” — following Biden’s comments that he hoped to see a ceasefire by Monday — Lapid said Netanyahu was causing “injury” to US relations.
“Netanyahu’s public quarrel with the administration in the USA is an injury to the security of the state, an injury to Israel’s foreign relations and a lack of national responsibility. Don’t understand what is burning him to open another front?” Lapid wrote on social media.
