Nine PTI-backed MPAs-elect, now members of the Sunni Ittehad Council, have been administered oath at the Sindh Assembly.

The inaugural session and oath-taking ceremony of the provincial legislature took place yesterday but these nine SIC members were not present during the session. Today, they were sworn in ahead of the election of the speaker and deputy speaker.

Jamaat-i-Islami leader Muhammad Farooq of Islami also took oath alongside PTI-backed independents. Meanwhile, JI Emir Haafiz Naeemur Rehman did not attend today’s session.
