Philippe Lazzarini, commissioner general of the UN agency for Palestinians, has said donor countries suspended $440 million worth of funding for UNRWA.
“At the time the International Court of Justice calls for more humanitarian assistance, it is the time to reinforce not weaken UNRWA. We are the largest aid organisation in one of the most severe and complex humanitarian crises in the world,” he wrote on X.
