LAKKI MARWAT: Two people including a teenage girl were wounded in separate firing incidents here the other day.

Police said that Robina Bibi, 16, was shot at and injured over an enmity in Langerkhel Pacca village in the limits of Shahbazkhel police station.

The injured girl told police in her preliminary report that she was alone at home when someone knocked at the main gate. “I opened the gate and our rival Asif armed with a pistol came inside and asked about my father,” she said, adding that he fired at her with his pistol as a result she was injured. She was shifted to district headquarters hospital in Tajazai and a case was registered against Asif. Separately, Rifatullah Khan received bullet injuries when two armed men opened firing on him over a petty dispute in Wanda Bagni village.

Rifatullah told police that he was working in his fields when Rafiullah armed with a repeater gun and his brother Ziaullah armed with an assault rifle came there. He said that Ziaullah ordered his brother to fire and as a result he was injured.

Meanwhile, police have booked seven people for resorting to firing in the air during election campaign in Tajori town.

Additional SHO Saifur Rehman stated that Laiq Zaman, Amirullah, Shafiq, Shaukat, Wahid, Matiullah and Nazeef were charged under relevant sections of law. In Bannu, police the other day claimed to have arrested two suspects involved in the murder of a two-year-old girl and injuring her mother and another sister in Miryakhel area.

An official said that on Jan 26, wife of Asif lodged an FIR with Miryakhel police that Nisargul along with three unidentified accomplices entered her house and opened firing on them. The complainant’s two-year-old daughter Somia was killed while she and her other daughter were injured.

He said that police raided a hideout and arrested Nisargul along with another accomplice identified as Zahirullah.
