LAKKI MARWAT: Marwat Qaumi Ittehad, an electoral alliance formed by Saifullah brothers, has gathered support of political families to ensure victory of independent candidates in the upcoming general elections.

Strenuous efforts by former federal minister Salim Saifullah bore fruits on Sunday as a former bureaucrat and elder of Meenakhel family Akhtar Munir Marwat and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader Mohammad Saleem Khan of Ghaznikhel joined the group of Saifullah brothers.

Salim Saifullah, who is in the run for NA-41, also addressed separate public meetings at the residences of a former tehsil naib nazim Dr Sarfraz Khan Meenakhel in Lakki city and Mohammad Saleem Khan in Ghaznikhel town.

Other elders including Barrister Abid Nawaz Marwat, Raees of Eesakkhel Haji Mohammad Aslam Khan, Arifullah Khan, Shafiullah Khan and Haji Abdul Rashid were also present on the occasions.

Dr Sarfraz and Malik Najibullah Khan, candidate for PK-105, also spoke on the occasion.

In his address, Salim Saifullah said that JUI-F leadership was deceiving people in the name of religion. He held JUI-F responsible for the backwardness of the district.

Referring to JUI-F former lawmakers, he said that during the last 15 years, they grabbed people’s votes and reached assemblies but failed to launch a single uplift scheme in the district, especially in Lakki city.

“Our family provided employment opportunities to thousands of jobless youth and executed mega uplift projects,” he claimed. He added that rival candidates had nothing to present to people during canvassing for votes.

Salim Saifullah alleged that their opponents affiliated with JUI-F were luring people by offering them electricity poles and transformers to get their votes.
