Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli foreign ministry are engaged to bring back the Israeli footballer who caused a stir in Turkey for showing a message referring to the Israeli bombardment in Gaza, Al Jazeera reports.

Jehezkel, 28, celebrated scoring a goal for his Antalyaspor team against Trabsonspor by revealing a message that read “100 days. 07/10” on a bandage on his left wrist.

Israeli media N12 and Haaretz reported that the Israeli government is working through diplomatic channels to secure his release.
