Shlomo Ne’eman, who heads a council representing Jewish illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank, has called on Israel’s government to allocate more funds for settlement security ahead of an expected budget vote this week, Al Jazeera reports.
Ne’eman said Israeli settlements, which are deemed illegal under international law, are “being threatened” amid Israel’s bombardment of Gaza, reports Israel’s Arutz Sheva media network.
“We call on the government ministers to come to their senses and show concern for the lives of half a million residents of Judea and Samaria,” he said, according to Arutz Sheva, in a reference to the occupied West Bank.
