KOHAT: The police arrested an arms smuggler, a proclaimed offender and a dug peddler in separate actions here on Sunday.

The cantonment police acting on a tip-off stopped a pick-up truck at the Kaghazai checkpost, and during the search recovered six 12-bore repeaters hidden in its secret cavities. They arrested the carrier, Kareemullah, hailing from Kurram district.

Similarly, the Jarma police arrested a proclaimed offender, Ayaz, along with weapons and cartridges during an action. He had gone into hiding after making a murder attempt a year ago.

Separately, the police seized 180 grams of ice drug and 1.5 kilogrammes of hashish from a peddler, identified as Ali Ahmed, during checking at the Muslimabad checkpost on the Indus Highway.
