ISLAMABAD: Top-ranked Aqeel Khan, Muzammil Murtaza and Mohammad Shoaib comfortably won their second-round matches of the eighth Serena Hotels National Ranking Tennis Championship here at the SDA-PTF Tennis Complex on Wednesday.

Veteran Aqeel outclassed Shahzad Khan 6-1, 6-2, Muzammil Murtaza eased past Sami Zeb Khan 6-1, 6-1 while Shoaib tamed Huzaifa Khan 6-0, 6-4 in the men’s singles matches.

In the women’s singles, Natalia Zaman outplayed Kainat Ali 6-1, 6-1; Sarah Mehboob brushed aside Laiba Iqbal 6-1, 6-0 and Soha Ali defeated Sheeza Sajid 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 to reach the second round.
