ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued pre admission notice to Khanna SHO on a petition challenging the investigation in a car accident that killed two men in June last year.

IHC Chief Justice took up the petition filed by Rafaqat Ali.

On June 8, 2022, Ali’s son Shakeel Tanoli and his colleague Hasnain Ali both were waiters at Savor Foods were going home at midnight. They were hit by a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) allegedly driven by a woman.

According to the details, the woman left the vehicle on the spot and fled from the scene. The police took the car in custody. However, an official of the Lahore High Court (LHC) returned the car back on superdari.

Ali contended in the petition that the suspect and the heirs of Hasnain settled the matter out of court.

The petition stated that the family members of the suspect also came to his house in Mansehra districtand warned him of dire consequences if he pursued the case.

He requested the court to issue direction to the police to conduct the investigation and proceed against the suspect under section 279 (rash and negligent driving) and 322 (murder without intention).
