GUJRANWALA: A notorious hired assassin allegedly involved in more than 10 robbery and murder cases was killed in a ‘shootout’ while his accomplices managed their escape here on Wednesday night.

According to reports, Tatle Higgh police killed Abdul Jabbar who was involved in the killing of residents of Bharuki Cheema. A police team was taking Jabbar for recovery of some evidence when his accomplices launched an attack. During a crossfire, Jabbar succumbed to his injuries. He had a record of being a hired assassin with more than 10 registered cases against him.

SUICIDE: Samuel Salim Masih, a retired police inspector of Chand Qala, jumped into the canal near Judicial Colony in Saddar police area and ended his life.

Police said Samuel Masih got retired in June this year. He was suffering from liver disease and backache these days.
