KARACHI: The board of the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) at its meeting on Wednesday elected Shakeel Masud Hussain of DawnNews and Mian Amer Mehmood of Dunya TV as its chairman and secretary general, respectively, for the year 2023-2024, said a press release.

Mir Ibrahim Rahman of Geo TV was elected as senior vice chairman, Aaj TV’s Ahmed Zuberi as vice chairman, Muhammad Ather Kazi of KTN as joint secretary and Ghulam Nabi Morai of Mehran TV as finance secretary. All the office-bearers were elected unopposed.

Earlier, the PBA held its annual general body meeting which was attended by a majority of the members from TV and radio category.

In addition to the permanent board members, Chaudhry Abdul Rehman of Neo TV, Ghulam Nabi Morai of Mehran TV, and Sardar Khan Niazi of Roze TV were elected by the general body as directors on the PBA board in the elected member category.

Besides, the following radio members were elected unopposed by the general body as directors on the PBA board: Shahid Jamal of FM-106.2, Mirza Muhammad Naeem of Radio Awaz, Nazafreen S. Lakhani of FM-89, Sara Taher Khan of FM-91, and Sher Asfand Yar Khan of FM-107.
