SARGODHA: The paperwork for auctioning or selling state commercial land in urban and rural areas is being carried out in accordance with the new policy of the Board of Revenue.

According to sources, during a meeting chaired by Commissioner Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti, the preliminary draft of the revenue generated in the event of leasing or selling the contracts was discussed.

This draft will be provided to the Department of Economics at the University of Sargodha and the final policy will be formulated based on their input.

Deputy commissioners (DCs) from four districts -- Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, and Bhakkar -- also presented their reports on anti-smog activities.

The commissioner said the paddy harvesting stage was around and urged farmers to use scientific methods for disposing of stubble instead of burning it.

He sought reports from DCs on converting paddy crop straws into cattle feed or supplying them to cardboard factories as raw material.

He said farmers be warned that burning crop residue may result in not only a fine of Rs15,000 per acre but also legal action.

During the meeting, Director of Agriculture Shahid Hussain provided an update on the ongoing smog awareness campaign.

FAMILY COURT: Following an order from the family court, a bailiff conducted a raid on the residence in Mauza Khokhran, seized the dowry, and returned it to the woman.

According to sources, Samaira Bibi of Chak 58-NB filed a dowry recovery suit in the family court while also seeking custody of her five-year-old daughter.

She said they had a love marriage, but disputes arose within two years. Now, due to the forced separation, she requested a divorce and the return of dowry items.

Judge Bushra Rashid instructed bailiff Muhammad Rashid to execute the order, which he carried out.
