BAJAUR: Leaders of All Bajaur Political Parties Alliance on Saturday rejected the preliminary delimitation, which deprived the tribal district of one of the two National Assembly constituencies, and demanded of the Election Commission of Pakistan to restore the seat.

The alliance leaders made the demand during a meeting called by Awami National Party’s local chapter in Khar.

Tribal elders and representatives of local bodies also participated in the meeting.

ANP Bajaur president Gul Afzal Khan, PPP former MNA Syed Akhunzada Chattan, PTI provincial vice-president and former provincial minister Anwarzeb Khan, JI leader Maulana Waheed Gul, Syed Sadiq Akbar and Malik Gul Zada of ANP, PML-N’s president Haji Gul Kareem Khan, All Bajaur Political Parties Alliance founder chairman Sheikh Jan Zada, Najeebullah Khan Advocate and others were in attendance.

The participants said fresh delimitation had curtailed the number of NA seats from two to one, calling it a great injustice with the people of the region.

The participants demanded of the election commission to reverse the decision.

The meeting constituted a committee to take up the matter with the ECP.
