SWABI: Two young friends drowned while bathing in Kundal Dam, while another youngster drowned in Badri Nullah here on Friday, said local residents and Rescue 1122 officials.

Local people told Dawn that like other days, a large number of people visited Kundal Dam on Friday. The two friends were accompanying their other colleagues.

Soon they started bathing in the dam and were told by the locals to be careful as the water was deep.

Saeed Khan, a resident, said: “The local people warned but they did not listen and slipped into deep water and drowned. Soon the Rescue 1122 officials were informed who reached the spot and started an operation to recover the dead bodies.

Both the victims were identified as Jamal Khan, 22, and Aftab Khan,23. They belonged to Maini village of Topi tehsil.

Also in the day, Rohan Khan, who belonged to Satkather region of mountainous Gadoon Amazai area drowned in Gandaf Badri Nullah. His dead body was recovered by the locals.

Meanwhile in Ziada, a man, Ibrahim Khan, stabbed his brother Usman to death over a minor issue.

Ibrahim wanted his mother to accompany him to his home but his brother Usman Khan refused which resulted in an exchange of hot words. Soon the two brothers started a fight. Other relatives present there tried to intervene, but Ibrahim attacked Usman with a knife, killing him on the spot.

The Zaida police station has registered an FIR and started investigation.
