BAJAUR: Three people were killed after unknown motorcyclists opened fire on them in the far-flung Barang tehsil of the Bajaur tribal district here on Saturday evening, police and residents said on Sunday.

They said the incident occurred in the hilly Asil Targaoo area. They said Tasleem Khan, 52, Samiullah, 48, and an 11-year-old boy, belonging to the same family, were heading to their homes in Seia Mena locality after visiting their relatives, when unknown motorcyclists opened fire on them, killing them on the spot.

The villagers said they shifted the bodies to their homes. They said the assailants managed to flee from the spot after committing the triple murder.

Confirming the killing of three people by the armed motorcyclists in the remote Barang region, district police officer Nazeer Khan said as per the police’s initial investigation, a personal enmity was the cause behind the killings.
