GUJRAT: Wazirabad city police claimed on Monday to have arrested a female suspect involved in the brutal murder of her younger sister in an incident a few days ago.

Reports said Aswa had stabbed to death her younger sister Saliha over some domestic dispute in Cheema Colony locality of Wazirabad city police precincts on Wednesday last.

Saliha had sustained multiple bruises to her body as her elder sister repeatedly hit her with a knife after which she was shifted to Wazirabad civil hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Police had lodged a case against Aswa under section 302 of Pakistan Penal Code.

A spokesman for police said the suspect had been arrested and further investigation was under way.
