ENERGY WASTAGE: In most of the Pakistani universities, lights and fans are not generally switched off once a class is over. This is a waste of energy resources due to which university admi- nistrations have to pay massive utility bills that put a burden on the financials. Students should turn off the lights and fans after a class, or maybe the teachers also need to get involved in the matter.

REOPEN LIBRARY: Turbat has been without libraries for long. The city had one public library that was closed during the pandemic and has not been reopened since. The public, especially the community of students, is suffering in the absence of a public library. The government should reopen the library forthwith.

THIRSTY RESIDENTS: Baldia Town, a densely populated area, has been facing an acute water shortage. The chronic shortage has gone so bad these days that one cannot even imagine carrying out the most basic routine activities. The residents deserved better at least during Ramazan.

UNJUST HIKE: The hike in the prices of vehicles by local car-manufacturing companies is nothing but an artificial phenomenon. Such unnecessary hike in prices has left the buyers frustrated, leaving the market badly affected. The relevant ministry should keep an eye on the market trends.

SHOWROOM MAFIA: The car showrooms seem to have gobbled up large spaces around small offices, and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) appears to be in a paralysis.

The G-9 and G-8 Markaz are glaring examples of such violations. It is ironic that the CDA is chalking out new areas for car parking in the city rather than taking action against the mafia.
