LAHORE: Governor Balighur Rehman on Thursday conferred Pakistan civil awards on 40 people for showing outstanding performance in various fields on the occasion of Pakistan Day at the Governor’s House.

The governor awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz, presidential award for pride of performance and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz on behalf of President of Pakistan. Among the recipients of awards are Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, actor Tauqir Ahmad Nasir, Riaz Shahid (late), Muhammad Shafi known as Shakir Shujaabadi (poet), Chaudhry Shafy Hussain, cricketer Muhammad Babar Azam, Attaur Rehman (late), Allama Muhammad Raza Saqib Mustafai, Abdul Rauf Rufi, Dr. Muhammad Aqeel Babri, Dr. Muhammad Arif Hasan Khan, Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Tahir, Ms. Parveen Rizvi known as Sangeeta, Muhammad Hafeez Tahir, Ghulam Qadir known as Qadir Ali Shagan (late), Altaf Hussain known as Tafu.
