ISLAMABAD: A student of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) was murdered during a robbery in the capital on Tuesday, police said.

Besides, robbers also shot and injured two persons in other incidents.

In the first incident, two motorcycle riders intercepted Mohammad Husnain, 21, at G-13/4 when he along with his sister, nephew (Usman) and niece was walking on a street.

The bike riders held them at gunpoint. When one of the robbers snatched a mobile mobile from Usman, his uncle Husnain put up resistance and tried to overpower the robber. The gunman shot Husnain and fled.

The injured was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The police said the deceased was a third-year BDS student in Russia and was on vacation.

In another incident, a gunman shot and injured a bike rider working for an online service. The injured was identified as Babar Sultan.

The culprit in the guise of a passenger booked the ride from Koral to Nogazi graveyard and after reaching the destination shot and injured Sultan and took away his motorcycle.

Gunmen also shot and injured a man in Sngjani, police said, adding that the injured was identified as Mohammad Shoaib, a driver by profession.

Two persons booked the pickup of Shoaib from Wah Cantonment to Sangjani and after reaching the destination shot the driver. The injured was shifted to hospital where he was kept under the observation of doctors, the police added.
