BAJAUR: The authorities on Monday finalised security arrangements for digital census to be started on March 1 in Bajaur tribal district.

According to a statement, a total of l1,061 police personnel would be deployed during the campaign. It said that a meeting of senior police officials was held with DPO Nazeer Khan in the chair to finalise security arrangements for census.

The participants of the meeting were briefed about arrangements for the safety of workers taking part in the digital census.

The DPO showed satisfaction over the arrangements. However, he called for further strengthening the security so that the important task could be fulfilled in a peaceful environment.

He directed senior officers to ensure that all the police personnel deployed for the security of census teams remain alert throughout the process to avoid any unpleasant incident during the exercise.

The statement said the DPO also instructed the participants of the meeting to ensure that the police personnel use helmets, bulletproof jackets and other equipments necessary for the safety and security of them.

The meeting decided that a total of 1061 police personnel would be deployed with census teams during the campaign that would continue till April 1.
