ISLAMABAD: A man was murdered over old enmity while another man was injured during a robbery, police said on Saturday.

In the first incident, a man was gunned down in an attack in Bokra area, police said.

The victim was identified as Mushtaq Khan, a native of Charsadda.

Khan came to Islamabad three days ago and was staying with his sister, the police said, adding that two persons on a motorcycle appeared when he and his brother-in-law were sitting on a railway line.

The pillion rider opened fire on Khan, killing him on the spot. The attackers managed to escape from the scene.

The body was shifted to a hospital for legal procedure, they said. According to the victim’s brother-in-law, Sadam Hussain, there was an old enmity between the victim and the attackers.

In the second incident, gunmen shot and injured a man during a robbery in Dhoke Kala Khan, police said. The injured was identified as Qasim Safdar.

Three armed men intercepted him when he was going to Sohan from Dhoke Kala Khan on his motorcycle, police said.

The gunmen held him at gunpoint and snatched his motorcycle, the police said, adding that one of the robbers started firing at him when he put up resistance.

As a result he sustained a bullet injury to his leg. The robbers escaped with the motorbike they added.
