TOBA TEK SINGH: A man died and three others, including a policeman, were injured when a masked motorcyclist opened indiscriminate fire on them in the parking of Dijkot police station on Saturday.

According to Faisalabad police spokesperson, two rival groups’ men were summoned for investigation into a murder case at Dijkot police station by the investigation officer (IO).

Before start of the investigation, they were standing near the parking lot outside the police station, when a motorcyclist who had covered his face with a scarf opened indiscriminate fire on them.

CPO suspends SHO, muharrar concerned over security lapse

As a result, four persons were critically wounded, who were shifted to Dijkot Rural Health Centre (RHC), where one of them, identified as Javed Iqbal Wahga (30), of Chak 249-RB, succumbed to his wounds, while the others, including a policeman, Rizwan, were referred by the doctors to the Allied Hospital.

City Police Officer Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani, taking serious notice of the incident, suspended SHO and muharrar of the police station over security lapse. The CPO formed a police team to immediately arrest the unidentified attacker and deputed Iqbal Town division SP to hold an inquiry into the incident.
