RAWALPINDI: Robbers deprived sellers of subsidised flour of Rs325,000 in Ratta Amral on Friday.

ASP City Mahim Khan reached the crime scene with a police team and recorded the victims’ statements and that of witnesses.

The victims told police that two persons came on a motorcycle to the flour sale point in Ratta area and held the salespersons at gunpoint and escaped with Rs325,000.

The police tried to get the footage from the CCTV cameras installed at shops in the vicinity of the crime scene, but found most of the shops closed due to Friday’s holiday. However, they found two shops open and asked their owners to provide them with CCTV footage.

The police were disappointed after the CCTV cameras turned out to be dysfunctional. However, the investigation is going on in which circumstances in which the robbery took place will be ascertained and the suspects will be arrested.

Meanwhile, Salahuddin, a prayer leader at a mosque, was shot and injured by three gunmen during a mobile snatching incident in the Banni police area.

The victim lodged an FIR with the police on Thursday saying that he was crossing Eidgah graveyard when three motorcycle riders intercepted him and forced him to give up his mobile phone and cash. He said he fell on the ground after being shot by the robbers who snatched his mobile phone and fled.
