KARACHI: The Sindh government has directed vice chancellors to draft rules for elections of student unions in universities and submit them to the committee concerned within a week.

The directives came in a meeting chaired by minister for universities and boards Muhammad Ismail Rahoo on Monday.

The meeting was attended by vice chancellors of all public sector universities and boards and universities secretary Muhammad Mureed Rahimoon, among others.

The officials decided to set up a 10-member committee to take up the recommendations once they were submitted by the vice chancellors.

The law and rules of student unions would be applicable on all public and private sector universities.
