SHANGLA: Teacher of a government primary school was arrested on Saturday for torturing and breaking hand of a fourth-grade student for demanding leave.

In the complaint, the student stated that when he requested his teacher for a leave, he kicked him, causing him to fall to the floor, fracturing his arm.

“The teacher also kicked me in the presence of students and another teacher. I do not have any issue with my teacher, but he kicked me just for demanding leave,” the injured student stated.

District education officer Muzafar Syed told Dawn on contact that he had directed the circle officer concerned to initiate an inquiry into the matter and submit the report as early as possible. He said he would cooperate with the police during the investigation of the matter.
