Gen Bajwa terms ‘quality healthcare’ critical for troops’ morale

RAWALPINDI: As part of his farewell visits, Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday went to see various setups of the Army Medical Corps.

He said quality healthcare for soldiers and their families was a cardinal feature of the army’s welfare regime and critical for the morale of troops.

Surgeon General Pakis­t­­an Army Lt Gen Nigar Johar accompanied the COAS, an ISPR news release said.

At the Com­bined Military Hospi­tal, Rawalpindi, he was brie­­fed by the CMH comm­a­ndant about the newly upgra­ded facilities. The army chief was shown the control room that has been recently set up to impart training to doctors through live surgery process at the academic centre.

He laid the foundation stone of a training block of the Armed Forces Postgra­duate Institute and visited the newly built soldiers’ guestrooms, the Army Help Centre and the upgraded faci­lities of the Armed For­ces Institute of Cardiology.

The COAS was earlier re­­ceived by Commander Raw­alpindi Corps Lt Gen Sahir Sham­shad Mirza.
