Man drowns in lake

MIRPURKHAS: A man slipped into a lake in Sindhri taluka and drowned on Saturday.

Mataro Machhi, 50, was sitting on the bank of Khangal Lake and was busy catching fish when he accidently slipped into the deep water.

His body was fished out by residents of a nearby village after three hours of struggle.

In another incident, an employee of Railways loco shed was shot at and wounded by muggers within the limits of the Mehmoodabad police station on Saturday.

Shehbaz Leghari was deprived of his cash and valuables at gunpoint before being shot at, the police said.
