LAHORE:The Election Commission of Pakistan has taken notice of the postings and transfers in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and ordered cancellation of the same at once.

A press release issued by the ECP on Monday said the NAB directors general for Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi had been posted and transferred while some of the by-polls were to be held in the same districts on July 17.

As the commission had banned any transfers and postings in the districts where the by-polls were to be held, therefore, the district monitoring officers of the three districts had directed the relevant NAB authorities to immediately cancel these postings and transfers.

Meanwhile, District Monitoring Officer for PP-158, Lahore, Adnan Iqbal has imposed a fine of Rs45,000 on PML-N candidate Rana Ahsan for violating election code of conduct.

Special assistant to the chief minister on political affairs Rabia Farooqui has been issued a notice to appear before the Jhang district monitoring officer for visiting PP-125 and using state resources while by-poll for the constituency are due on July 17.
