LAHORE: The Chief Minister’s Office has notified that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MPA from Dera Ghazi Khan Sardar Awais Leghari will present the provincial budget 2022-23 in the Punjab Assembly’s session on Monday (today).

An eight-member cabinet had taken oath of office in the first phase of the cabinet formation on May 30 but none of them has so far been allocated a portfolio due to differences among the coalition partners – the PML-N and PPP – on the distribution of portfolios.

Sardar Leghari was handed over budget speech and given briefing on the budget-related house proceedings on Sunday.

The notification issued by the CM office says that due to non-availability of minister in-charge, the chief minister has assigned the assembly business of the Finance Department to Provincial Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari for the forthcoming budget session.

Meanwhile, due to unavailability of minister in-charge MPA Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan has been assigned the department of Law & Parliamentary Affairs on the directive of the chief minister.
