BAHAWALPUR: Police claimed to have recovered a constable and a taxi driver allegedly kidnapped by criminals in the kacha (riverine) area of Rahim Yar Khan district after an “encounter” with the kidnappers.
According to a press release issued on behalf of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sadiq Ali Dogar, on Tuesday, a heavy police contingent acting on intelligence-based information and supported by armoured vehicles and Elite Force, forced the criminals in RYK district’s riverine area to retreat, leaving behind Constable Tariq and taxi-river Shahid.
The press release says the kidnappers, under the cover of darkness, managed to flee the riverine areas.
The police will continuing the search of the fleeing criminals, it says.
