OKARA: The district police claimed to have arrested a suspect who raped and killed an eight-year-old girl at Manoowala village near Basirpur.
District Police Officer Faisal Gulzar said a team, headed by Deepalpur police circle ASP Muhammad Awais Khan, after hectic efforts traced Ali Ahmad, a resident of the same village, who on some pretext took the minor girl to fields where he strangled her after rape.
The district police recommended cash prizes and commendation certificates for the team.
