ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have decided to deploy additional police personnel in the federal capital to ensure smooth flow of traffic during the last days (Ashra) of Ramazan.

This was decided during a special meeting at the traffic police headquarters on Sunday which was presided over by SSP (Traffic) Rai Mazhar. The meeting was also attended by all zonal DSPs and other traffic police officials.

The meeting decided that in the third Ashra of Ramazan, additional police personnel would be deployed around shopping malls, markets, restaurants, business outlets as well as mosques.

It also devised a comprehensive strategy to keep the flow of traffic normal so that commuters did not face problems.

Islamabad Traffic Police would also be taking strict action against people who were involved in wrong parking of vehicles and violated traffic rules.

The SSP directed that the ‘Police Congestion Unit’ be made more vibrant and special measures be taken for smooth traffic flow in the city.
