LARKANA: The Model Criminal Trial Court of Larkana on Thursday jailed a woman for life and imposed Rs300,000 fine on her for killing her step brother.

Presided over by Judge Ameeru­ddin, the court announced the verdict after accused Taniya Khokhar was proved guilty of killing Saeed Ahmed Khokhar in Khokhar locality in Dokri town in 2019. Other accused Baqar Ali Shah and Ali Taqi Shah in the case were exonerated of the charges.

Waheed Khokhar, brother of Saeed, had registered an FIR at Dokri police station under Sections 302, 148 and 149 of the PPC. Taniya Khokhar, Baqar Ali Shah and Ali Taqi Shah were nominated in the case.

Police had arrested Taniya and Baqar in the light of the FIR and sent them to jail while Ali had obtained bail. After the conviction, she was sent to the women and juvenile jail of Larkana.
