PESHAWAR: A team of the district administration and town municipal bodies demolished encroachments in Naguman and Faqirabad areas on Wednesday.
A team led by additional assistant commissioner Anwar Akbar Khan and Town-II enforcement officer Arbab Mir Alam Khan supervised the demolition process in Naguman area on the Charsadda Road, according to a statement.
Similarly, another team led by additional assistant commissioner Uzma Mukarram and Town-I enforcement officer Qaiser Bacha oversaw removal of encroachments around a government college in Faqirabad.
A contingent of police was deployed during the operation in order to avert any law and order situation. However, the encroachments were removed without any resistance from the locals.
Deputy commissioner Captain retired Khalid Mehmood had ordered the operations against encroachments along the GT Road and other residential and commercial areas of the provincial capital.
Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner also kicked off a spring tree plantation campaign in the Northern Bypass area, where at least 4,000 saplings would be planted on the roadsides.
