Pakistan has detected 5,327 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, down from 7,048 a day earlier.

However, 32 more people succumbed to the virus, marking the highest daily death toll since October 6 when 46 fatalities were confirmed.

The national positivity rate stands at 9.7 per cent.

The countrywide breakdown is as follows:

  • Sindh: 1,477 cases, 8 deaths
  • Punjab: 1,894 cases, 16 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 721 cases, 4 deaths
  • Balochistan: 27 cases, 1 death
  • Islamabad: 932 cases
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 52 cases
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 224 cases, 3 deaths
