GUJRANWALA: Ladhaywala police registered a case against four suspects who allegedly gang-raped a woman late on Thursday.

According to the first information report, the woman was waiting for a bus at Maan Stop when four people in a car took her away and gang-raped her in a house and fled.

The woman fell unconscious. On gaining consciousness, she alerted the Ladhaywala police about the incident.

ACCIDENT: A man was killed while 12 others were injured when a truck hit a rickshaw and later a motorcycle near Fareed Town Canal Bridge on Friday.

A traffic warden signalled a truck to stop but the driver could not control the wheel and crashed the vehicle into a rickshaw and a motorcycle parked along the road.

An unidentified motorcyclist died at the scene while Rehmat, Yasir, Bashir, Qurban, Hameeda and others were injured seriously.

The truck driver fled. The Satellite Town police impounded the truck.

DEMO: The Headmasters Association, Teachers Associations and Education Department Clerks Association, in support of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Saifullah Dhillon, held a demonstration on Friday.

Protesters, led by Headmasters Association’s Zakir, Punjab Educators Association’s Afzal Mehr, Clerks Association’s Tahir Mehmood Bhatti, deputy education officers Sajida Parveen, Safoora Khalid and others, blocked the road. They said a complainant, who is a habitual applicant to blackmail teachers, was trying to blackmail the CEO. The protesters also demanded immediate action against the complainant.

Protesters met ADCG Anjum Riaz and apprised him of the situation. The ADCG said an investigation was being carried out into the incident.
