KARACHI: Hayley Matthews produced a fine all-round performance to guide the West Indies Women to an unassailable 2-0 series lead over Pakistan Women, after winning the second One-day International by 37 runs at the National Stadium on Thursday.

The West Indies, who were sent in to bat first, were dismissed for 153 runs off 45.4 overs, with opener Deandra Dottin leading the way with 34, while Matthews contributed 26. Captain Stafanie Taylor made 23 and Shemaine Campbelle was unbeaten on 23.

Pakistan’s Fatima Sana took two wickets for 19 runs, while Anam Amin had 2-21 and Omaima Sohail 2-25.

In reply, the hosts were bundled out for 116 in 39.2 overs as the West Indies took an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-match ODI series.

Omaima top-scored with 27 and Javeria Khan scored 24 but Matthews took 4-29 with her off-breaks and pace bowler Shamilia Connell took 3-18 as Pakistan Women slipped from 67-3 in the 25th over losing their last seven wickets for 49 runs.

Pakistan lost their last four wickets for just five runs with Connell being the main destroyer late with a double-wicket maiden in the 38th over before Matthews picked up her fourth wicket in the 39th. Connell then returned to wrap up proceedings when she bowled Anam Amin for a duck.

The final ODI will be played on Sunday.
