SAHIWAL: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) says three militants were killed in a crossfire at Mauza Kala Pathan locality on Wednesday.

Umer Daraz, who was arrested in Bahawalnagar, was killed along with two other militants. Umer was held after a bomb explosion in Bahawalnagar on Muharram 10 and on his lead, the CTD took him to Mauza Kala Pathan to seize explosives and other denotative devices.

At the place identified by Umer, some people started firing at the CTD and in the ensuing crossfire, three militants were killed in firing by their with their companions.

CTD officials recovered two hand grenades, a Kalashnikov, pistols and bullets.

A case was registered against Umer Daraz with the Multan CTD.

Earlier on Tuesday, the CTD arrested Ghaffar at Ada 137/9-L, near Mir Dad Mafi and recovered detonators, devices, hand grenades and explosive material from him.

Ghafar is from block No 6, Qaidabad, Khushab.
