Adele eyeing a ‘Christmas comeback’

Singer Adele is reportedly planning a Christmas comeback with the release of her fourth album and a live Las Vegas show. The 33-year-old is lining up a December 10 gig in Las Vagas, which will be streamed across the world for all her fans.

The Hello songstress and her management team are said to be “in talks with BBC America about broadcasting it around the world”, with the show being one in a series for her promotional tour. The source continued: “Obviously with ongoing Covid dramas and concern for safety it could affect recording, but this is the date scheduled right now.”

If the show goes ahead, it will mark her first live event since the end of her world tour in summer 2017, when Adele was forced to cancel her final two Wembley Stadium shows due to damaging her vocal cords.

Making movies in space

Russia’s space agency, Roscosmos, plans to launch a Russian actress, film director and cosmonaut to the International Space Station soon to produce the first full-length feature film shot in space, with a working title of The Challenge.

Russian film director Klim Shipenko and actress Yulia Peresild are to spend 12 days in orbit, during which 10 days will be devoted to shooting the film. The plot is a thriller about a doctor (Peresild) travelling suddenly to the space station to save a dying cosmonaut.

Trained cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov will pilot the mission, the first in decades to see three Russian nationals flying together.

“The space station is like a big house that consists of over 15 modules. At least seven people always stay there and when we arrive, there will be three more,” Shkaplerov told.

Roscosmos announced the mission just after former Nasa Administrator Jim Bridenstine tweeted in May 2020 that actor Tom Cruise would fly to the space station for a movie. But no date has been announced for a Cruise mission. In the meantime, Nasa has begun intense planning to show off planned Artemis moon missions by using numerous high-definition cameras.

Live-streamed concert of BTS

BTS have confirmed that they are holding a live-streamed concert on October 24. Not many details about the virtual gig are known, but the concert is called “BTS Permission to Dance”.

This will be BTS’s first concert in a year since their last gig, the live-streamed “BTS Map Of The Soul ON:E” in October 2020.

BTS — made up of RM, Jimin, Jin, Suga, Jungkook, V and J-Hope — had been set to tour Korea, America, Canada, Japan, England, The Netherlands, Germany and Spain with their postponed “Map Of The Soul” world tour, but they were forced to cancel the dates.
