Pakistan's coronavirus death toll crossed the 27,000 mark after the country reported 66 new fatalities over the last 24 hours. The total number has risen to 27,004.

During this period, 56,778 tests were conducted and 3,012 came back positive. The total number of cases has risen to 1,215,821 and the positivity rate is 5.3 per cent.

Punjab reported the highest number of deaths during the last 24 hours with 28 fatalities, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 19.

Breakdown of deaths and cases reported during the last 24 hours:

  • Punjab: 1,295 cases, 28 deaths
  • Sindh: 838 cases, 18 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 543 cases, 19 deaths
  • Islamabad: 256 cases, 1 death
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 61 cases
  • Balochistan: 13 cases
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 6 cases
