Protest against closure of Taftan trade gate held

CHAGAI: Labourers and traders staged a protest march against the prolonged closure of tax-free trade gate Zero Point and Bazarcha at the Pak-Iran border in Taftan town of Chagai district.
The march started from Pakistan Gate. Its participants marched on different roads of the town.
Later the protesters staged a sit-in outside the NLC dry port.
Addressing the protesters, Haji Khuda Nazar, Amanullah Mohammad Hasni, Asif Burhanzai and others said Taftan was an important business town as it is located along the border with Iran.

Open the gates and let us earn easy money by bringing in smuggled goods without payment of any duties and other taxes to the government. Of course, we shall pay up to the law enforcers for looking sideways when we bring in the smuggled items as their share of the nontaxable earnings.
