THE K-Electric updates a weekly loadshedding schedule on its website as a heads-up for citizens. A glance at the schedule reveals that most of the areas face load-shedding after midnight when people are usually asleep after a long day of hard work.

I reside in a commercial area where there is minimum activity after the sunset as the wholesale markets are closed by that time.

The relevant feeder is Elander Road and the grid is Rimpa Plaza.

According to the loadshedding schedule for June 1-7, the KE planned a power cut from 1:05am to 3:05am in the said area.

This is quite frustrating for the residents as it interrupts their sleep and affects their physical and mental health in return. Is there no way to manage the load during the rest of the 22 hours?

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) must take notice of this problem and stop the KE from any loadshedding from midnight till 7am.
