KOHAT: The district administration officials and army personnel visited Tanda Dam here on Wednesday and discussed construction of various facilities there for attracting tourists.

Additional deputy commissioner Bashir Ahmed, officers of army, assistant director of local government, enforcement officer of tehsil municipal administration Mohammad Vaqas and engineer Fareeduddin selected sites for various facilities.

They agreed to establish restaurants, huts and hotels with the cooperation of the district government and Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation.

They said that the irrigation department’s rest house should be converted into a restaurant and huts built alongside the bank of the lake so that people could arrange parties under shelter with families.

WOMAN FOUND DEAD: Body of a woman was found under a bed in her house in Sorgul after a month under mysterious circumstances here the other day.

Police said that her sister living in Togh Bala would usually visit the house of Noor Mina, a retired Dai, but every time found the main door locked.

She got suspicious and called her other sisters in Punjab whether Noor Mina had visited them, but got the answer in negative.

On Tuesday, her brother broke the locks and found body of their sister under a bed in the house.

The Jarma police took the body to the KDA teaching hospital for postmortem.

Answering a question, an official said that they would be able to know about cause of the woman’s death after the postmortem report. He said that they were investigating the case from different angles and had not yet registered any FIR.

CRACKDOWN: In a crackdown against anti-social elements and peddlers in the City, Saddar, headquarters and Lachi circles the police seized a big quantity of drugs and a cache of arms on Wednesday.

A statement issued here from the DPO office said 25 absconders and three Afghan refugees with their 12 facilitators were arrested during raids.

The seizure included 70 kilogrammes of hashish, 4kg of ice drug, 2kg of heroin, 16 Kalashnikovs, four kalakovs, 10 rifles, 29 shotguns and 170 pistols.
