JUST before Eid, there was another special occasion this year as the international Mothers’ Day fell close to the greatest of all Islamic festivals. In addition to all the physical help – ranging from feeding us to teaching us manners to getting our home assignments done – mothers provide the emotional balance in our lives with their love; the kind of love that is exclusive to them.

Can we ever be grateful enough to them? No. If we really want to make our mothers happy and acknowledge their contribution to our lives and personalities, every day should be their day; Mothers’ Day. Let us love our mothers and, more importantly, let us express our loveto them. It brings them joy, and their smile makes us happy. The world becomes a better place when a mother smiles. Let’s make our mothers smile.
