THIS year’s Kharif season has also passed without bringing any change in the mindset of the farmers like it always does. Our farmers are indifferent to the idea of change which is why, more often than not, they end up incurring more losses than the profits they hope to earn. Science tells us that it is important to change the crops so that the land remains fertile, but, because there is a lack of awareness and education among our farmers, it is not surprising that most of them are not open to the idea of change.

The relevant authorities must conduct regular trainings and educate the farmers so that they too are open to innovative ideas to produce better yields.
